A Day of Learning, Laughter, and Leadership – Presidency Schools, Bhongir

Reflection, Understanding and Enquiry….

There are some days in education that remind you why you chose this path in the first place. My recent visit to Presidency Schools, Bhongir was one such day — full of energy, curiosity, and the unmistakable joy of children discovering how learning can truly come alive.

We had gathered for a very special purpose: setting up yet another Teaching–Learning Material (TLM) Lab, with a strong focus on Montessori-inspired learning activities. For me, a TLM lab is never merely about arranging materials on shelves. It is about creating a space where children can touch, explore, question, and discover concepts with their own hands and minds.

From sensorial materials to hands-on mathematics aids, from language activities to structured exploration tools — every element was placed with the intention that children should learn by doing, not merely by listening.

What made the day even more meaningful was the active participation of parents. When parents step into the learning space and see how education can move beyond textbooks, something powerful happens. Conversations become richer, understanding deepens, and the child’s learning journey becomes a shared commitment between home and school. Watching parents observe the Montessori materials and engage with the process reminded me once again that education flourishes best when families and schools walk together.

Alongside the TLM lab setup, I also conducted an intensive teacher training session for the Presidency faculty. Teachers are the true custodians of any learning environment, and it is always a privilege to work closely with educators who are eager to learn, adapt, and refine their classroom practices. We discussed the philosophy behind Montessori activities, the role of observation in teaching, and how structured freedom can transform the classroom experience for young learners.

But perhaps the most delightful moments of the day came from the children themselves. Their excitement was infectious. Each activity seemed to draw them deeper into discovery — small hands carefully working through materials, bright eyes lighting up when a concept suddenly made sense. Watching children immerse themselves so completely in learning is a reminder that curiosity is the most natural state of childhood — all we have to do is nurture it.

The visit also offered me the pleasure of meeting the selected students preparing for the next round of the iVision Youth Parliament. Seeing their enthusiasm and readiness was heartening. These young voices represent the future of thoughtful dialogue, leadership, and civic engagement. Our training and orientation sessions for iVision Youth Parliament will be reaching participating schools very soon, and I look forward to working closely with these bright young minds as they prepare for the next stage.

As the day drew to a close, there was a quiet satisfaction in knowing that something meaningful had been built — not just a lab, but an ecosystem of learning.

My sincere thanks to the Presidency Schools team, and especially to Ms. Jayalaxmi, whose warmth, commitment, and support made the entire day both productive and enjoyable.

Days like these reaffirm a simple truth:
When schools open their doors to innovation, when teachers embrace new ideas, when parents participate with curiosity, and when children respond with joy — education becomes what it was always meant to be.

And this is only the beginning.

iVision Youth Parliament trainings and orientations are coming to you soon.
We look forward to another exciting round of thoughtful debate, confident voices, and young leaders in the making.

Until the next visit — another wonderful day, another meaningful step forward.
